Grants

Teacher Grant

The Parma Education Association Foundation believes that the teacher is the most important person in the educational program and that his/her continuing education is vital in keeping abreast of information related to his/her teaching field. To demonstrate this philosophy, the PEA Foundation will award one Parma City School District teacher a Grant. This award will be presented at the PEA Recognition Dinner.

CRITERIA

  • The applicant must be a member of the United Teaching Profession. (PEA, NEOEA, OEA, and NEA)
  • Funds may be used by the recipient to pay for coursework or teacher training that will benefit the professional growth.
  • Grant must be used by June of the following school year.
  • The recipient will be selected by the PEA scholarship committee
  • Applications must be received at PEA office by the deadline date.
  • Receipts for coursework or in-service expenses and a brief summary should be sent to the PEA office upon completion. In the event that the recipient is unable to use the award for the purpose it was granted, the monies shall be returned to the PEA Foundation.
  • Recipients of the grant from the prior three school years are not eligible.

Materials Grant

The Parma Education Association Foundation believes that the teacher must have adequate materials to have effective learning take place in the classroom. To assist with the purchase of materials, the PEA Foundation makes an award of a materials grant to a Parma City School District teacher. This award is presented at the PEA Recognition Dinner.

CRITERIA

  • The applicant must be a member of the Parma Education Association and the United Teaching Profession. (PEA,NEOEA, OEA, and NEA)
  • Funds must be used by the recipient to purchase materials that will be used in the classroom to benefit student learning.
  • Grant must be used by June of the following school year.
  • The recipient will be selected by the PEA scholarship committee
  • Applications must be received at PEA office by the deadline date.
  • Receipts for materials and a brief summary should be sent to the PEA office upon completion.  In the event that the recipient is unable to use the award for the purpose it was granted, the monies shall be returned to the PEA Foundation.

  • Materials purchased become the recipient’s personal property.
